Michael Garcar

Mike Garcar serves as outside general counsel to a broad range of for-profit companies and tax-exempt organizations, with a focus on nonprofit and political law. His for-profit practice includes advising LLCs, public benefit corporations, and corporations on formation, fundraising, corporate governance, commercial contracts, and employment matters. On the nonprofit side, he counsels 501(c)(3), 501(c)(4), and 501(c)(6) entities on organizational structuring and tax-exempt recognition, board governance, vendor and consulting agreements, lobbying and political activity compliance, and required IRS and state filings. Mike graduated cum laude from the University of Akron School of Law and holds undergraduate degrees from Walsh University.
